Joan Rivers worked hard and was was worth millions at the time of her tragic death in September.
Now her daughter Melissa Rivers will be in control of over $100 million dollars plus other assets.
Melissa’s son, Cooper, has also received a portion of his grandmother’s fortune.
An insider revealed, “Melissa will inherit $75 million in cash and Joan’s French-inspired $35 million condo on New York’s Upper East Side. Her son Cooper, 13, has received his own bequest”.
Of course, receiving millions doesn’t help any with the loss of someone you love dearly. The insider said that the inheritance is “no consolation for losing her mother so soon”.
It has been almost two months since Rivers was taken off of life support at a hospital in New York.
On October 16, Melissa Rivers released a very short statement following the news of her mom’s cause of death.
She stated, “We continue to be saddened by our tragic loss. No further comment at this time”.
It was recently revealed that the former “Fashion Police” host and comedienne died of “predictable surgical complications” during minor surgery.
Joan Rivers kept very busy right up until her death, with her fashion line on QVC, hosting duties, and stand-up comedy appearances.
Joan and her daughter Melissa were very close.
There are reports that Melissa plans to sue the medical clinic where her mom had surgery. Melissa is not doing this for the money, however, but to ensure that this sort of thing doesn’t happen to anyone else.
