Lucky Magazine has reported that former “Full House” star Mary-Kate Olsen and French banker Olivier Sarkozy have already tied the knot.
Olsen began dating Sarkozy in 2012, before becoming engaged on February 14, 2014. But did the odd couple already tie the knot?
Many found the pairing a little odd and Olivier’s ex-wife Charlotte was disgusted with the romance and Mary-Kate being 16 years younger.
Charlotte married Olivier in 1997 and they were married 13 years before their split. She said of her ex dating the Olsen twin, “That’s not right. It’s grotesque.”
In an interview with Wall Street Journal, Mary-Kate shared a glimpse of her thoughts on the media’s overwhelming interest in her love life and the age difference between her and her man.
Mary-Kate said, “Everyone has an opinion. I find it’s better to focus on what’s in front of you and to keep putting one foot in front of the other.”
Her fiance (or husband) is the half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Olivier is the managing director of the Carlyle Group’s global financial services division. Sarkozy has two children from his previous marriage, Julien, 14, and Margo, 11.
Mary-Kate and her sister, Ashley Olsen, have grown up to become founders and owners of an estimated $1.5 billion business empire (Dualstar). They are also designers of the high-end fashion line The Row.
Olsen and Sarkozy will continue to live in the New York townhouse purchased by Olivier in 2012, a 4,200 square foot townhouse for the price of $6.25 million.
Mary-Kate’s twin sister Ashley is also dating a much older man. She has been seeing “Moneyball” director Bennett Miller, who is 20 years her senior.
