It’s been 20 years since the first hilarious “Dumb and Dumber” film, but we discover the gap was all part of an elaborate joke by Lloyd (Jim Carrey).
Check out the new movie trailer for “Dumb and Dumber To” (even the title is funny).
Jeff Daniels’ character Harry Dunne has been visiting his old friend Lloyd at a nursing home every day for two decades. Harry attempts to force his pal out of his stupor as he begins to make noises.
Lloyd (Carey) then suddenly exclaims, “Got you!”
Harry stated, “Wait a minute, so you mean you’ve been faking for 20 years, and it was all for a gag?” Adding, “That’s awesome!”
The trailer then sets up the premise for the new movie, with the pair discovering Jeff’s character has fathered a daughter. Lloyd then points out the postcard carrying the news is postmarked from 1991.
They decide to try and locate the girl, who has been given up for adoption. But Lloyd has his own reasons for wanting to find his friend’s long-lost daughter!
Unsurprisingly the latter was left in the shade by the movie star and The Newsroom favourite in the workmanlike sketch, which saw them burger joint using mannequin limbs.
Comedy pro Jim said before hand he did not use his actual arms because he had a modeling contract with Tag Heuer, while Jeff claimed had ‘arm acne.’
The long-awaited sequel to the hit comedy, which made $250m at the box office, is set for release on November 14. We can’t wait!
