Celebrity interior decorator Nate Berkus has tied the knot in New York to Jeremiah Brent.
The “American Dream Builders” host married in front of around 220 guests at the New York Public Library on Saturday, becoming the first same-sex couple to wed at the New York landmark.
Berkus reportedly wore a J.Crew suit, while Jeremiah donned Saint Laurent. The couple exchanged identical gold Van Cleef & Arpels bands.
The wedding ceremony was officiated by Sheri Salata, the president of Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions.
Celebrity chef Rachael Ray, food critic Katie Lee, and actress Busy Philipps were among the celebrities in attendance.
Brent previously said of their wedding plans, “It’s going to be a really sexy wedding ceremony, like really masculine but sexy feel. It’s been really great and been a really fun process for us to blend our aesthetics together and really create this whole moment.”
Nate Berkus, 42, and his partner, the former personal assistant for celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, became engaged a year ago after nine months of dating.
Jeremiah, 29, said of the proposal, “We were on a buying trip… in Peru and we went on the top of Machu Picchu and we walked down into this valley temple place and he asked me to marry him. I fell apart, like full ugly-girl kind of cry.”
The wedding was followed by a reception which included a set by DJ Mad Marj, as well as a special performance by Estelle of her hit “American Boy”.
There have been rumors Nate and Jeremiah are planning to have a family together via surrogate.
