Veteran “Today” show star Willard Scott, 80, has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend.
Scott and Paris Keena were married on Tuesday in Fort Myers, Florida. They have been dating for around 11 years.
Willard Scott has been a part of the “Today” show since 1980.
Host Matt Lauer shared the happy news today, revealing that Willard and Paris wed on April Fool’s Day.
Lauer said on Wednesday, “By the way, we also gave some great news this morning about another surprise wedding in our family. Yesterday, Willard Scott and his longtime partner Paris Keena tied the knot.”
“Willis and Paris have been together for about 11 years,” Lauer added. “Congratulations to the both of you. We love you both.”
Scott met his wife for the first time in 1977 when they both worked for TV station WRC in Washington.
They stayed in touch for years but became romantic 11 years ago. They split their time between Florida, Virginia and Connecticut.
Paris was asked about the destination for their honeymoon, stating, “Our whole life has been a honeymoon”.
Scott, who turned 80 last month, was married to Mary Dwyer Scott from 1959 until her death in 2002. He has two daughters Mary and Sally and two grandchildren, John and Sally.
Just last month, another wedding was announced on the show. Co-anchor Savannah Guthrie revealed she had married communications strategist Mike Feldman two days earlier in her native Arizona. She is also four months pregnant!
