People magazine reveals their picks for the Most Beautiful yearly, which sometimes appears to be more “politically correct” than based on physical appearance.
This year’s list includes stunning Hollywood starlets and some inclusions that makes us say “ummm, what?” Check them out!
The Most Beautiful named for 2014 is “12 Years a Slave” star Lupita Nyong’o. This 31-year-old actress has had a huge year, landing an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
Now the beauty has been given the title of People magazine’s Most Beautiful woman.
The actress was thrilled about the accolade, admitting growing up she felt beauty meant “light skin and long, flowing hair”.
Lupita said, “[My mother] always said I was beautiful. And I finally believed her at some point.”
She revealed she was quite the tomboy, stating, “I would never look in the mirror, never, ever. One day my mother actually dragged me and made me look at myself and said, ‘Look, you are ashy! You need some lotion!'”
People magazine’s latest list will hit newsstands later this week, but the top ten has already been revealed online.
“Felicity” star Keri Russell is runner up with her alabaster skin tone and natural beauty.
New mother Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who recently posed nude for Allure magazine, comes in at number three on the list.
Mindy Kaling of “The Mindy Project”, 34, is hilarious, but number four on People’s list? Alrighty then.
Singer Pink (Alecia Moore), 34, is certainly not a conventional beauty, but this woman is a great singer and puts on awesome performances.
Johnny Depp’s 28-year-old fiancee, Amber Heard, is stunning. She deserves a spot on this list!
Former “Bring It On” hottie Gabrielle Union may be 41, but she is as beautiful as always. She comes in at number seven!
Model Molly Sims, 40, came landed the eighth spot on the Most Beautiful list.
Newlywed and pregnantStacy Keibler, 34, came in at number nine. She is even stunning with a baby bump!
The tenth spot on People’s list goes to “Scandal” star Kerry Washington, who is also expecting her first child.
The 37-year-old actress stated, “The reality is we all have nerves and moments of insecurity … But if I said to myself that I’m only going to show up, or speak or be visible when I’m perfect, I would never get out of bed.”
