Celebrity photographer Terry Richardson has always seemed creepy, but now he allegedly offered a British model a Vogue shoot in exchange for sex.
British model Emma Appleton revealed that Richardson offered her a photoshoot if she’d have sexy-time with him. Gross!
Appleton posted the message on Instagram, which reads, “If I can f–k you I will book you in (New York) for a shoot for Vogue”.
Appleton posted the photo with the caption “Um what?”
Many people wondered if it really was Terry Richardson, who has photographed everyone from Kate Moss to Miley Cyrus.
Appleton defended herself, writing, “This industry is f–ked up. I’ve been modelling for 5 years and I’ve never had this before, it doesn’t make it okay.”
Emma later deleted her Twitter and removed the post from Instagram. Of course, Richardson’s rep claimed the text was a fake.
Appleton later said the text message was authentic and that she’d only deleted it to avoid unwanted attention and abuse.
Vogue has distanced themselves from the entire issue with the following statement, “The last assignment Terry Richardson had for US Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future”.
This wouldn’t be the first time the creepy photographer had been accused of inappropriate conduct. In 2010, model Jamie Peck claimed Terry stripped naked and asked her to perform a sex act.
In March, the controversial photographer penned an open letter to the Huffington Post himself addressing the rumors and defending his work.
Terry wrote, “I collaborated with consenting adult women who were fully aware of the nature of the work, and as is typical with any project, everyone signed releases. I have never used an offer of work or a threat of rebuke to coerce someone into something that they did not want to do.”
