Trace Adkins has had a rough year and things aren’t exactly looking up!
The country singer’s third wife of 16 years, Rhonda, filed for divorce on Tuesday in Tennessee. Well, at least she didn’t shoot him like his second wife!
Rhonda is asking for primary custody of the couple’s three daughters – MacKenzie, Brianna and Trinity and wants Adkins to pay child support, alimony, and all her legal fees.
Trace, who has battled alcohol addiction in his past, entered rehab in January after getting into a physical altercation with his impersonator on a cruise ship.
The country star left rehab in February to fly home to Louisiana to see his ill father, who died just a few days later.
This is Trace Adkins’ third divorce.
His first wife was Barbara Lewis and he has two daughters from that marriage, Tarah and Sarah.
His second wife was named Julie Curtis, who actually shot Trace during an argument. The bullet went through his heart and both lungs. Adkins didn’t press charges but they obviously divorced soon afterwards.
Trace’s third wife is Rhonda Forlaw and they wed in 1997 after he proposed on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry in 1996.
The couple have three daughters, Mackenzie, born in 1998, Brianna, born in 2001, and Trinity, born in 2004.
