Lil Wayne Retiring After Next Solo Album (VIDEO)

Lil' Wayne serious about retirement

Lil Wayne appears to be serious about retiring from his rap career after he releases his next album.

The rapper told MTV News that he will make guest appearances on other artist’s projects, but won’t put out another solo album.

Wayne is working hard on his next album, but stated, “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it’s definitely the final Carter album. It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five.”

The rap artist will release “Tha Carter V” in May, admitting he has worked really hard on this final solo album.

Wayne said, “It seems like it will be impossible for me to work this hard again for anything else”.

We don’t expect the rapper to just disappear from the music business though. He plans on making guest appearances on other people’s projects, especially those in his YMCMB family.

“Whenever I have to pitch in for a Young Money album, a ‘Like Father, Like Son’ album and something like that and maybe something out the blue,” he explained. He revealed it would take “25 to 35 million” to convince him to do another solo album.

Wayne recently released “Young Money: Rise of an Empire” compilation album. The record features contributions from the likes of Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga as well as newcomers Euro, PJ Morton and Chanel West Coast.
