Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry, who have dated for three years, tied the knot on Sunday.
The “Talk” host and former 4 Non Blondes singer became engaged in April, getting married at sunset overlooking the ocean.
Gilbert, 39, most known for her time on “Roseanne”, and Perry, 48, have a nine year age difference.
Actress and singer Juliette Lewis tweeted about the nuptials over the weekend, writing, “Holiday by Madonna playin, sun is beaming, gettin ready 4 the wedding of 1of my fave couples in the universe @RealLindaPerry @THEsaragilbert.”
Aisha Tyler, Gilbert’s co-host on “The Talk”, shared the news of Sara’s wedding today. Her other co-host Julie Chen adds that Sara is on her honeymoon and will give more details when she returns to the show next Monday.
Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry began dating in 2011, just a year after the actress officially “came out” as a lesbian.
Gilbert has two children – son Levi Hank born in 2004, and a daughter, Sawyer born in 2007, from her relationship with TV producer Allison Adler.
Linda popped the question to Sara during an afternoon picnic.
Sara said of the surprise proposal, “I’m sitting there listening and I’m kind of daydreaming and I’m thinking like, ‘If I ever proposed to her this would be an amazing way to do it’. The people picnicking next to us pull out string instruments from under the blanket, walk over and they start playing Love Song. She goes to her backpack and she pulls out these T-shirts and the first T-Shirt says “will” and then puts on another T-shirt and it says, “you,” then “marry,” “me.”
Gilbert added, “It was the most amazing proposal ever.”
Awww…congrats to Sara and Linda on their marriage!
