Joan Rivers has called Lena Dunham “fat”, saying the “Girls” star is sending a message that it’s “OK” to be overweight.
Rivers didn’t mince words during her interview with shock jock Howard Stern, who actually defended Lena!
The “Fashion Police” host doesn’t care for Lena’s sense of style, stating she shouldn’t wear skirts above the knee.
Rivers said on Stern’s Sirius show, “Lena Dunham, who I think is again terrific, how can she wear dresses above the knee?”
Howard replied, “Well, I think the thing we love about her is that she doesn’t give a s**t … She did a whole [Girls] episode in a bikini. It was the funniest f**king thing I ever saw.”
Robin Quivers, his co-host, added, “And it think that’s what she’s going for: Just because I don’t look like a bikini girl, I want a bikini.”
But Joan certainly didn’t agree, replying, “But, that’s wrong. You’re sending a message out to people saying, ‘It’s OK! Stay fat! Get diabetes. Everybody die. Lose your fingers.'”
Here’s the audio of Joan’s cruel statements about Lena on Howards show (NSFW Offensive Language):
Joan Rivers said, “If you look the way you look, Lena, and that’s fine and you’re funny, don’t say it’s OK that other girls can look like this … Try to look better.”
Joan couldn’t resist from taking another dig at the 27-year-old actress over her Vogue cover, which was Photoshopped.
She stated, “She was on VOGUE’s cover looking gorgeous. You didn’t know it was her.”
Joan backed down a bit, insisting she was a fan of the “funny” actress.
We think it’s cool Howard stood up for Lena, after making disparaging remarks about her in the past and later apologizing.
