Why is Westboro Baptist Church picketing Lorde?

Singer Lorde is encouraging her fans to respond to the hatred of Westboro Baptist Church with love, after they announced plans to picket her Missouri show on Friday.

The “Royals” singer tweeted to fans to wear rainbow clothing because the church hates homosexuals.

Westboro Baptist Church gives everyone that believes in God a bad name. These guys promote hatred instead of love and are just disgusting.

They have now set their sights on 17-year-old singer Lorde, who certainly doesn’t promote a sexy image or anything unlike Miley Cyrus.

The “church” group plans to picket her show in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday and Lorde responded to their threat on Twitter.

Lorde asked her fans to wear rainbow clothing and kiss Westboro members of the same sex, in response to the church which is notoriously anti-gay.

The “Royals” singer tweeted, “Hahaha omg just found out westboro baptist church are going to picket my show in kansas city (sic).  Everyone wear rainbow clothing to that show … [and] try to kiss church members who are same sex as you. They will so love it. Christmas comin early in kansas city. (sic)”

Lorde responds to Westboro on Twitter

Westboro Baptist Church, believed to have a few dozen members, protest anything they have decided is immoral.  These events include funerals of our soldiers, LGBT events, and concerts and funerals of celebrities.

The “Christian” hate group responded that Lorde “doesn’t have enough sense to put in a thimble” as they posted an odious parody of her Grammy winning song Royals on their website.

The news of their planned protest comes as their founder is said to be dying.

Fred Phelps Sr. started the Westboro Baptist Church in 1955, and the sect has since protested at hundreds of funerals of military members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of their view that God is punishing America for tolerance of gays and lesbians.

This weekend his estranged son, who has left the church, announced on Facebook that his 84-year-old father was “on the edge of death at Midland Hospice house in Topeka.”

If you haven’t heard of this hateful group, check out their exchange with British comedian Russell Brand. Do they really think God wants us to hate people? Come on!
