Legendary comedian David Brenner has passed away at the age of 78.
Brenner reportedly slipped into a coma this week before passing away on Saturday afternoon at his home in New York, with his family by his side.
His publicist confirmed the sad news of his death.
Brenner, who was a favorite on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson, had been fighting an aggressive form of cancer.
David is known for his sarcastic sense of humor and multiple appearances on the late night show. The funnyman appeared on “The Tonight Show” around 158 times. He also hosted the show several times.
David Brenner said of his career, “I want to make as many people laugh, as heartily as they can, for as long as I can.”
Brenner tied the knot to figure skater Tai Babilonia since 2011.
