Former “Saturday Night Live” star Chris Kattan, who many of us remember as the flamboyant “Mango”, was arrested for driving under the influence early Monday morning.
Kattan wasn’t drunk but admitted that he had taken prescription medication.
Chris Kattan reported struck a Department of Transportation maintenance truck on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley just after 1 a.m.
California Highway Patrol confirmed that the accident occurred on the westbound Ventura Freeway, near the Balboa Boulevard exit.
A woman had called 911 to report that a “Mercedes was weaving all over the roadway at slow speeds,” according to officials.
Kattan crossed into an area that was blocked off with cones and hit the truck from behind.
There were no injuries reported, but Kattan was arrested on the scene and booked for DUI at the Van Nuys Jail. Cops said that Kattan managed to exit the car but appeared out of it.
Chris Kattan was taken into custody and booked at the Van Nuys Jail on $15,000 bond.
Kattan, who was on Saturday Night Live” from 1996 to 2003, was best known for the character Mango. He also starred alongside Will Ferrell in the 1998 film “A Night at the Roxbury.”
