Justin Bieber, 19, who has been in a world of trouble recently, took to social media to thank his local Mayor for support and to say his father Jeremy Bieber is the “greatest dad in the world”.
We’re so curious what his mother Pattie Mallette thinks of those statements, with reports that Jeremy wasn’t around for most of Justin’s life.
The teen signer is currently taking a little break at home in Canada with his father and siblings following a controversial few weeks. He also had to turn himself in recently for an alleged assault of a limo driver.
Justin’s hometown mayor, Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson, showed his sympathy and support for the singer and Justin seems to appreciate the comments.
Bieber took to Twitter to thank Mathieson:
never forget where you come from or those who supported you before anyone else. still the small town kid. thanks http://t.co/9gxipLe8JB

Justin posted his appreciation and a link for his 49 million followers to an article in the Beacon Herald that details Mathieson’s support.
The mayor had said, “As far as I’m concerned, he is a 19-year-old person who has made some errors. I hope for his sake that he can get a reset, and get back to music and doing what he loves.”
Justin’s arrival home comes as it was confirmed in a toxicology report that he had marijuana and THC and Alprazolam (key ingredients in anti-anxiety drugs such as Xanax) in his system at the time of his Miami arrest.
The singer also took to Instagram to post a black and white picture of his dad in a Batman beanie. Justin wrote, “I have the greatest Dad in the world, He’s taught me how to love, learn, and stay true to myself. I will forever be grateful because he was my superhero #batman (sic)”.
Justin’s controversial few weeks have included DUI charges, testing positive to marijuana and Xanax, and assault charges over an altercation with a Canadian limo driver last year.
Bieber’s father Jeremy, who has been slammed for his parenting skills and behaving more like a party buddy than a dad, is obviously idolized by his celebrity son. Hopefully Jeremy will be a good influence on Justin when he needs it most.
