A Florida man, who made headlines after winning a chance to watch the “Breaking Bad” series finale with the show’s stars at a private party in a Hollywood cemetery, is in the news after being busted on several drug charges.
Ryan Lee Carroll, who apparently was way more than just a fan, was arrested and booked into a Lee County jail on two felony charges and one misdemeanor.
Ryan Lee Carroll of San Carlos Park was arrested last week and charged with felony possession of a synthetic narcotic and felony possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
He was also booked on a charge of misdemeanor keeping a shop or vehicle for dangerous drugs. The exact drugs were not named by police.
Deputies surrounded Carroll’s home on Tuesday as the bust went down.
A neighbor said, “We just saw lots of cop cars and lots of undercover cops throughout the neighborhood”.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office isn’t saying much about the investigation, but neighbors say the street was packed with law enforcement the entire day.
Another neighbor said, “It was kind of scary. I came home at about 6 p.m. and there were still about 10 cop cars and they had this big bread truck and they were bringing boxes and boxes of something out.”
Carroll is being held in the Lee County Jail on a $12,500 bond.
Carroll, 28, was the lucky winner of a “Breaking Bad” contest, sponsored by actor Aaron Paul who plays Jesse Pinkman on the show.
Individuals who donated to Paul’s wife’s The Kind Campaign were automatically entered into a raffle, with the grand prize being a trip to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery to party with Paul.
At the time, contest winner Carroll stated, “I think we’re going to be in Hazmat suits with them. It’s going to be crazy.”
Carroll previously said of the popular show, “If you start watching it, you can’t stop. It’s highly addicting, just like the meth they make (on the show).”
You just make this stuff up!
