Kanye West has been performing 27 songs per show on his “Yeezus” tour, which we’re sure is a bit exhausting.
But the outspoken rapper took things a little too far when he compared his “risky” shows to being a police officer or “someone at war”. He should have learned from the previous Tom Cruise controversy!
Kanye West told SaturdayNightOnline.com host Garrett that, “Like, I’m just giving of my body on the stage… I’m putting my life at risk, literally!”.
He adds, “When I think about when I’m on the ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ and ‘Coldest Winter’ moment, like that mountain goes really, really high. And if I slipped… You never know. And I think about it. I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.”
We’re betting Kanye’s comments aren’t going to go over very well with cops and soldiers that literally put their life on the line every day.
Kanye goes on to explain his statements and all the media scrutiny.
The rapper said, “Like you’re literally going out to do your job every day knowing that something could happen to you. Something could happen to you verbally from the press bashing you, something could happen to you from people not liking you anymore ’cause of your records— you could actually slip on that stage.”
West is known for his annoying rants on stage, going off about how the cruel fashion world shoots down his clothing line. Kanye said of his stage rants, “I just meditate and I act like I’m not even here and I just say exactly what I say, exactly what I dream, the frustrations that I have, and the way we’re going to overcome it”.
