Justin Bieber reportedly called one of his teen fans a “beached whale” in Perth, Australia.
The singer was staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel when he made the cruel comment to a girl at the hotel pool.
A guest claims four girls in bikinis were at the hotel’s pool when the 19-year-old pop star looked over at one of them and asked the one girl, “What are you, Hawaiian or something?”.
The girl, who was described as very attractive and around a size 14, answered, “No, I’m not”.
He then told the girl, “You look like a beached whale!”, with the girl replying, “Are you serious?”
Justin then added, “You should go on (weight loss reality show) The Biggest Loser!”
One guest from the hotel said, “I saw Bieber make a gesture with his hands to imitate a large belly as he spoke to the long haired girl and I heard him say something about The Biggest Loser and he was pointing at her – and I saw the girl and her friends leave, downcast. I also told her not to take any notice of him as she walked past us, I’m not sure if she heard me. Bieber seemed to think he was funny, he was smiling and looking to his burly minders for their approval.”
Another guest, Helen Robinett, made a formal complaint to the hotel over the incident saying, “They said the girl was OK and she was a Bieber fan. She may appear OK but I work in styling and fashion, I know how women view their bodies, what body image issues women have. That kind of comment can have a serious impact and repercussion. That’s why I’m so upset about it.”
Justin finished his tour in Perth over the weekend.
On Monday, Justin put in a call to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show to promote his new movie “Believe”.
Justin Bieber said, “I think (his debut film) Never Say Never showed hope and I think Believe is how you get back up when you fall down and, really, that story of what’s going on behind the scenes. I think that’s why a lot of stuff has been confused. I’ve been on tour so no one really knows what I’m doing out here,’ he declared. ‘People don’t get to see me living as a 19-year-old boy. I’m still finding myself and when I have the media attacking me every day, it’s no [different] than bullying that happens in school.”
