Barbara Walters will soon reveal who she thinks was the most fascinating person of 2013. Until then, Walters has shared the celebs who will fill out the nine other spots on her annual top 10 list.
A few of these people aren’t very shocking with their popularity this past year, but a few others were a pleasant surprise. Check them out!
Some of the year’s biggest names in the headlines, entertainment and pop culture are sitting down with legendary news anchor Barbara Walters for her annual special “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year.”
The 90-minute show will air Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 9:30 p.m. ET.
The No. 1 most fascinating person of 2013 will be announced on the program. The show will also reflect on moments from the past 20 years of Walters specials, which started in 1993.
This will be the last special for Walters, who announced last May that she would retire from TV journalism next year.
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, known for her role as Katniss Everdeen in the “Hunger Games” films, is one of this year’s most fascinating. And we have to agree on this choice.
Lawrence is beautiful and hilarious, but has this down-to-earth vibe that makes you want her as your best friend. She recently had David Letterman chuckling as she told him about “sh*tting her pants” so much recently.
Former NSA contractor Edward Snowden became a controversial figure after he leaked thousands of secret U.S. government files this summer. Some people feel he is a traitor while others hail Snowden as a hero.
“Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts beat breast cancer five years ago, and then battled MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome) this summer. She has been an inspiration to many.
Duchess Kate and Prince William welcomed the royal baby, the adorable Prince George of Cambridge, made headlines this past year too.
The Robertson family, the stars of the reality show “Duck Dynasty”, are a refreshing sight on television these days. The close-knit family are very entertaining, especially Uncle Si!
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, better known as “KimYe”, think their romance is a “love story for the ages.” The newly-engaged couple recently starred in a steamy music video for “Bound 2”. Of course, we loved the parody video by James Franco and Seth Rogen.
Miley Cyrus, 21, has re-invented herself from the sweet star of “Hannah Montana” into a risque pop star. We’re sure her interview will be interesting.
Another person that made Barbara Walter’s list this year is long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad. The author, motivational speaker, and world record long-distance swimmer, became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida at the age of 64. She didn’t even have the protection of a shark cage.
Pope Francis is a very interesting person, with many finding the Catholic leader such a kind and good man.
