New Zealand singer Lorde recently dissed Selena Gomez’s song “Come And Get It”, saying it’s anti-feminist and sends a bad message to fans.
But Selena hit right back at the 17-year-old singer and said Lorde isn’t “supporting other women”.
Selena spoke to Flaunt magazine, taking a swing at the “Royals” singer.
Selena said of Lorde’s remarks, “That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her. I actually covered her song in all of my shows that I’ve done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue that.”
Well, that will certainly teach her a lesson! Not!
Lorde took aim at Selena and her fellow former Disney stars in a variety of interviews over the last several weeks. In her latest chat she branded some of America’s biggest singers as “fu*king mental”.
Lorde stated, “The difference between those kids and me is that I grew up completely normally and went to parties and had that experience. I am way less inclined to be like, ‘Look! I’m fu*king mental!'”
The 17-year-old singer didn’t actually name any singers in particular, but she is believed to have been talking about Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.
Lorde said she stands by her comments, even after all the backlash from other singers and fans.
“I have pretty strong morals and opinions being in pop music, and I can’t help but express those, which I think people appreciate,” she recently told MTV News.
She adds, “I mean, I don’t think I say anything that isn’t backed up. Most of the time I will stand by things that I’ve said.”
Selena Gomez has been putting out a little sexier image recently, wearing a very revealing dress to the Flaunt Magazine Issue Party last night.
