It looks like Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis will be celebrating this Thanksgiving, after the actor’s divorce to Demi Moore was finally made official!
Demi and Ashton, who split in November 2011, are now legally single.
Ashton’s lawyer Laura Wasser filed the documents in a Los Angles courthouse on Tuesday after the couple finally agreed on a financial settlement, which had been causing a delay in the proceedings.
Ashton Kutcher, 34, gave Demi Moore, 51, more money than he had originally planned in order to dissolve their marriage.
The former couple had been battling over money for a long time.
A source stated, “There had been lengthy negotiations between lawyers for both sides about the financial settlement — in particular, how much he owed her from their marriage. They have finally come to an agreement that was acceptable to all sides.”
Demi is believed to be worth $150 million herself, but originally wanted spousal support from her ex-husband.
Meanwhile, Ashton became the highest-paid actor on television when he replaced Charlie Sheen on “Two And A Half Men” in May 2011 for a whopping $750,000 per episode.
Ashton and Demi didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement when they got married in September 2005.
The actor filed for divorce in December 2012, a year after the couple first parted ways.
In her papers, filed in March 2013, Demi cited “irreconcilable differences” and stated their date of separation as November 17, 2011. That was two months after Kutcher’s fling with Sara Leal.
Demi has had a few brief relationships following the split, but Ashton has gotten serious with his former “That 70’s Show” co-star Mila Kunis.
Sources close to Ashton and Mila said they are ready to move forward.
An insider stated, “Demi and Ashton’s divorce has cast a cloud over his and Mila’s relationship because it’s dragged on for so long. Thankfully Demi’s turned a corner. She’s no longer bitter and she wants the divorce over and done with as soon as possible so she can get on with her life too. Ashton’s free to officially propose to Mila. Both of them want to marry and have children.”
