Orlando Bloom has opened up about his split from Miranda Kerr for the first time since the couple announced their separation last week.
The hunky British actor had only nice things to say about his estranged wife when he sat down with Katie Couric and Stephen Colbert.
Bloom told Katie Couric, “We love each other. We’re a family. We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives. There’s no question that, you know, for the sake of our son and everything else, we’re going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn.”
Bloom and Kerr were spotted on a family outing on Saturday with their precious two-year-old son Flynn, just days after announcing their split.
Orlando adds, “You know, life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for. But fortunately, we’re both adults, and we’re professionals, and we love and care about each other. And we, most of all, love our son.”
Orlando Bloom also stopped by “The Colbert Report” and got a little advice from Stephen Colbert.
Colbert said, “Let’s talk elephant in the room, you’ve got something going on with you right now, we don’t have to talk about it. If you want to talk about it you let me know, OK?”
Bloom obviously didn’t want to discuss the split, but Stephen told the handsome actor, “All I’m going to say is there are a lot of fish in the sea. You’re a good looking guy.”
“Thank you,” Bloom stated as women in the audience cheered.
Bloom and Kerr called it quits last week after three years of marriage. In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months.
Orlando Bloom’s rep said, “After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family.”
