Katy Perry Criticizes Pop Stars Getting Naked: Pot Calling The Kettle Black?

Katy Perry's NPR radio interview

Katy Perry is known for her fun and sexy onstage outfits, but the singer said she finds it strange that pop stars are getting naked these days.

Perry spoke to NPR radio on her birthday, where she states she’s been naked before but doesn’t feel you need to do that to be noticed.

Katy told NPR host Scott Simon, “Everybody’s getting naked. I mean, I’ve been naked before but I don’t feel like I have to always get naked to be noticed.”

It certainly appears Katy is pointing the finger at Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, and her pal Rihanna. But she refused to name any names.

She adds, “I’m not talking about anyone in particular. I’m talking about all of them. I mean, it’s like everybody’s so naked. It’s like put it away. We know you’ve got it. I got it too. I’ve taken it off for – I’ve taken it out here and there. And I’m not necessarily judging. I’m just saying sometimes it’s nice to play that card but also it’s nice to play other cards.”

Katy Perry was raised by parents who are both Pentecostal pastors and does dress more covered up when she’s not on stage.

Perry said she’s certainly not a “role mode” to her fans, but hopes to be “seen as an inspiration”.
