“Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam has pulled out of the upcoming movie adaptation of the popular book “50 Shades of Grey”.
Hunnam’s filming schedule for his hit show was named as the reason for his exit. Well damn! He was the only reason we would have watched the film.
Hunnam, 33, will not be playing the role of Christian Grey because of his “immersive television schedule”.
In a statement, Universal said, “The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey”.
His casting in the movie was announced last month, but some fans weren’t happy with the casting of Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson.
Dakota, daughter of stars Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, is still lined up to play Ana in the movie.
Charlie has starred in the cool biker drama series “Sons Of Anarchy” since 2008, and also appeared in Guillermo del Toro’s robot movie “Pacific Rim”.
There is no news yet on just who will be cast as Christian Grey now. There were rumors that “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson was being considered. Personally, we’d love to see a real porn star in the role. How about James Deen?
The sadomasochistic sex film is scheduled to be released in August 2014.
