Dax Shepard talks about wedding

Dax Shepard says his wedding to Kristen Bell cost just $142.

The 38-year-old actor tied the knot with Kristen on October 17, but it certainly wasn’t a lavish Hollywood wedding.

Dax Shepard appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and discussed his wedding at the Beverly Hills County Clerk’s office. He joked about having the “world’s worst wedding” but we find it rather refreshing. Just look at the marriages of some of the stars that held huge, expensive weddings!

Dax told Kimmel, “So we went to the Beverly Hills Court House and all in, with fuel to get there, $142 out the door. Friends of ours came to the courthouse, and it was just Kristen and I at this lonely Court House, so they brought us this cake afterwards. ‘World’s Worst Wedding.’ How many people can say they threw ‘The World’s Worst Wedding?”

Dax and Kristen, who became engaged in 2010, decided to delay their wedding until their home state of California legalized same-sex marriage. Gay marriage became legal in June.

Shepard’s new bride Kristen Bell didn’t seem to mind the low-cost wedding. Earlier this week she said, “I’m still on a high. We actually did it. I can officially call him my husband, which is pretty awesome. Other than that, it feels exactly the same.”

The couple have been together for six years together and welcomed a baby girl Lincoln in March.

Shepard and Bell headed to the court house to get a marriage license but decided on the spur of the moment to get married. An employee offered to marry them on the spot and they went or it!

The ceremony took place in one of the courtrooms with just the couple, the employee and a photographer present. A source said Kristen Bell cried throughout the ceremony. Kristen previously shared that she cries when she’s happy.

Kristen Bell always planned a simple wedding. She previously stated, “I feel like we get enough attention in our daily lives and we just want something sort of private that involves pen and paper.”
