Camille Grammer, the reality star and ex-wife of Kelsey Grammer, had a hysterectomy Friday after being diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer.
Camille caught the cancer early thanks to regular checkups, according to her representative.
Grammer’s rep stated, “The surgery went well and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period”.
The rep adds, “[Camille] has been diligent about regular checkups and monitoring, which explains that early detection and rapid treatment. Mrs. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her. She urges all women to be aware of the genetic factors relating to women’s cancers and get regular checkups.”
There were rumors that Camille Grammer wouldn’t be returning to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for personal reasons. She said she enjoyed her time with the other cast members and that she would continue to watch and support the other women but skipped the show’s reunion taping.
Camille Grammer filed for divorce from Frasier star Kelsey Grammer in July 2010 after 13 years of marriage, after he moved on with a British stewardess he met while traveling.
The divorce was finalized in February 2011 and the former couple finally reached a financial settlement a year later in a pretty nasty divorce.
