Katie Price has given birth to a baby boy eight weeks premature after an emergency cesarean section.
The reality star welcomed son Jett Riviera last week, weighing only 5 lbs, 2 oz after her unborn child’s heart rate fell very low.
The 35-year-old model was rushed into surgery for her fourth child, her first with husband Kieran Hayler.
Katie and Kieran had been on vacation in Europe when her amniotic sac was ruptured. There was a serious risk of infection to her baby.
Katie told the Mirror, “I went through a nightmare. The baby’s heart rate was also really low. The next thing I know the nurse is in my room saying get ready now”.
Kieran raced to be by her side but nurses banned him from being in the operating room while she gave birth.
Price said, “I was in a state. He’s never seen me like that before. He must have thought his wife had turned into a lunatic… I was sobbing, ‘I love you, I love you'”.
Katie Price’s doctors could barely speak English, which added to the stress.
Jett was taken to a special care unit and is said to be “doing well” in the hospital but is still being monitored.
Katie was discharged from the hospital on Friday and is staying in a nearby villa while she visits her son in the hospital.
The model is mom to an 11-year-old son named Harvey as well as Junior, eight, and Princess, six, with her ex-husband Peter Andre.
It could be up to three weeks before baby Jett can be released from the hospital.
