Elisabeth Hasselbeck has confirmed she will be leaving her co-hosting gig on “The View” after ten years.
The 36-year-old host, who was the lone conservative on the hosting panel, will be joining rival network morning show “Fox & Friends”.
Elisabeth’s last day on “The View” will be on Wednesday.
Hasselbeck said in a statement, “I have been a long-time fan of Fox & Friends and am excited to be joining their team in September as it is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home.”
Elisabeth will replace Gretchen Carlson on “Fox & Friends”, who is moving to an anchor spot on her daytime talk show. Hasselbeck will co-host with Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade starting in September.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck was a contestant on “Survivor: The Australian Outback” in 2001 and came in fourth before joining the morning show on NBC.
Barbara Walters, the executive producer and co-host, stated, “When Elisabeth survived Survivor we wanted to make sure she would stay afloat. We have had 10 wonderful years with her and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good.”
Elisabeth in 2002 married her college boyfriend Tim Hasselbeck, an analyst for ESPN and former professional American football quarterback. They have a daughter and two boys together.
Joy Behar will also be leaving the show at the end of this season.
