Zara Phillips and her husband, former rugby captain Mike Tindall, are expecting their first baby early next year.
Buckingham Palace made the announcement this morning, which will make Queen Elizabeth II a great-grandmother for a fourth time!
Zara, 32, an Olympic equestrian, even competed at the Barbury horse trials in Wiltshire on Saturday and took a tumble.
Juniper Sport, Zara Phillips’ agency, said she is “fine”.
The agency also sounds as if they believe Phillips will continue to compete in the grueling sport even though she is expecting.
Her PR team said, “She can still compete, it totally depends on horses and whether she feels it’s appropriate”.
This sounds like a very bad idea!
Buckingham Palace announced Zara and Mike’s baby news this morning, stating, “Mr. and Mrs. Mike Tindall are very pleased to announce that Zara Tindall is expecting a baby in the New Year.
“The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, and members of both families are delighted with the news. This baby will be the first child for Mike and Zara and the third grandchild for The Princess Royal”.
Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall’s child will be the fourth great-grandchild for the Queen.
Zara is currently 14th in line to the throne, but does not hold a royal title.
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, will be welcoming their first child any time now.
