Shannon Guess Richardson, a bit part actress from Texas, that told FBI agents her husband sent ricin-tainted letters to President Obama and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg was charged on Friday for sending the letters herself!
The 35-year-old actress of New Boston, Texas, who had small parts in “Vampire Diaries” and “The Walking Dead” is in jail and faces up to ten years in prison.
Shannon Guess Richardson, 35, called the FBI to tell them her husband, Nathan Richardson, sent the letters on May 20.
Richardson, who has had minor roles on television and movies, was arrested in Arkansas and charged on Friday with threatening the president.
The wannabe star is looking at 10 years in prison if convicted of mailing a threatening communication to the president.
Tonda Curry, Guess Richardson’s court-appointed attorney, said her client did not intend to harm anyone because it’s common knowledge the mail would have been checked before it reaching both Obama and Bloomberg.
FBI agents wearing hazardous material suits were at Shannon Guess Richardson’s home on Wednesday in New Boston, Texas about 150 miles northeast of Dallas near the Oklahoma and Arkansas borders.
Shannon mailed letters to President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg and Mark Glaze, the head of Mayors Against Illegal Guns.
The ricin-laced letters contained notes that stated, “You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns.”
Another excerpt read, “Anyone who wants to come to my house will get shot in the face. The right to bear arms is my constitutional, God-given right and I will exercise that right till the day I die. What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what I’ve got planned for you.”
Nathan Richardson, 33, an army veteran was questioned by the FBI but released without charge last week. He has been married to the former Dallas beauty queen since 2011.
Richardson told the FBI that his wife was the one behind the plot.
Shannon claimed last week that her husband was trying to kill her slowly with the deadly poison.
Shannon’s son Brenden Guess, 19, said that Guess Richardson had become paranoid that her husband was using the deadly poison to slowly kill her.
“She told me she was trying to be as careful as possible”, Guess Richardson’s son. “She didn’t eat unless it was straight from the store to her hand, basically.”
Shannon Guess told investigators she found a container of ricin in their fridge and has blamed her husband for sending the poisonous notes to public officials.
The pseudo-actress said of her husband, “He’s racist and hates Obama. Everyone knows that. I didn’t do anything. That’s absolutely not true.”
Ahe later failed a polygraph test and investigators also found inconsistencies in her story. Richardson then admitted mailing the letters knowing they contained ricin, but said her husband had typed them and made her print and send them.
Guess Richardson is a model and actress and has been married three times and is pregnant with her sixth child.
