“Gladiator” actor Russell Crowe and his wife of nine years, Danielle Spencer, have separated.
The 48-year-old Oscar-winning actor and his 43-year-old singer wife have decided to call time on their relationship.
The couple, who have two children – Charles, 8, and Tennyson, 6 – have reportedly split on good terms, with Danielle living in Australia with the children while Russell films the movie “Noah” in the United States.
Crowe and Spencer married in New South Wales in 2003 and lived in a mansion in Rose Bay.
Russell and Danielle’s marriage seemed strong, but his wife was spotted on a night out with her television dance partner, Damian Whitewood, several months ago.
Russell’s acting career has kept him away from Danielle for most of the year and he has six movies coming out this year including “Man with the Iron Fist”, “Les Miserables”, “Broken City”, “Superman”, “Noah and the Winter’s Tale”.
The now estranged couple met 22 years ago on the set of the movie “The Crossing”, when Danielle played the role of Meg and Russell starred as Johnny.
Sources close to Russell Crowe reveal he seems a mess and rarely showers, stating, “He’s been experimenting with skipping showers… you don’t want to be inhaling when he walks past. He reeks!”
