“Two and a Half Men” actor Ashton Kutcher, 34, was a presenter at Sunday’s Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.
The estranged hubby of Demi Moore wore a black cowboy hat and western outfit, even attempting to sing George Strait’s popular song “I Cross My Heart” before announcing Miranda Lambert as the Female Vocalist of the Year.
Miranda mulled the situation over and later wondered if Kutcher was making fun of country singers.
“Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I’m kinda wondering?” Lambert tweeted after the awards cermony.
Singer Justin Moore was even more harsh, tweeting, “Seen Ashton kutcher at the acms tonight. What a douche! I don’t care for people making a mockery of the way country artists dress.”
One unidentified person attending, stated, “People were just like ‘why is he here?’ – he has nothing to do with country,” adding, “Nobody laughed at his dumb jokes, in fact he came off as rude. He didn’t mingle.”
But on Tuesday, Ashton took to Twitter to address the accusations, writing to Lambert: “I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you’ve ever met. Wasn’t making fun at all.”
