Stone Sour’s drummer Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke during a show in Iowa last week and the band has canceled the remainder of their U.S. tour.
The band was performing in their hometown of Des Moines, Iowa last week Mayorga became ill during the gig.
Stone Sour released a statement, saying, “It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the remaining dates on our current headline tour. Our friend and drummer, Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke a couple of nights ago after our show in Des Moines. He’s doing great and is expected to make a 100% recovery.
“We apologize to all the fans and look forward to getting back out on the road with Roy in the coming months.”
The band’s frontman Corey Taylor writes, “Thank you so much everyone. I know Roy appreciates all your love and thoughts. I do as well. We will keep you all posted about everything.”
Corey Taylor is also the lead singer for Slipknot, who lost their guitarist Paul Gray last year from a drug overdose.
