Plus-sized model and actress Mia Amber Davis died following complications from knee surgery.
Mia Amber Davis had knee surgery to correct a sports injury in Los Angeles on Monday, but returned to the hospital on Tuesday after feeling dizzy.
Davis later lost consciousness and was declared dead. She was only 36.
Mia’s husband, Mike Yard, was devastated and told TMZ, “I want to know what happened to my wife.”
Mia found fame as one of the first black plus-sized models and began acting in 2000. She landed the role of Rhonda in “Road Trip” as actor DJ Qualls’ love interest.
