Troubled rapper Gucci Mane has been formally charged following an altercation with a female in Atlanta, Georgia in January.
Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, was arrested earlier this month after his probation officer found there was a warrant out for his arrest for pushing a female out of a moving vehicle.
Prosecutors filed counts of misdemeanor battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct against the rapper today, accusing him of showing a “willful disregard for a woman’s personal safety”.
Gucci, 31, was reportedly released on bail and his attorney, Ashutosh Joshi, maintains his client is innocent and says he will not be pleading guilty to the charges.
Joshi says, “We obviously believe the charges are false. We don’t agree with them and we look forward to having the opportunity to fight the charges in court.”
Mane is already on probation for a 2005 assault conviction and also faces another parole violation investigation after his arrest for obstruction of justice and traffic charges in November of 2010.
