Country Singer Mel McDaniel Dead At 68



Country singer Mel McDaniel has died at the age of 68 of cancer.

Country singer Mel McDaniel, who has hit songs including “Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On” and “Louisiana Saturday Night” has died. He was 68.

McDaniel, a native of Oklahoma used to sing of oil field workers in Alaska in the 1970’s before he went on to a career in Nashville.

Mel was a regular on the Grand Ole Opry starting in 1986.
