Singer and actress Demi Lovato, 18, entered rehab in January to be treated for “emotional and physical issues”, and has released a video thanking her fans for their support during the “darkest time of her life”.
In the video, Demi says, “I wanted to let you know that I am back and home. And I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the support you guys have given me along the way.
“I read all of the tweets and the fan mail and your support is what got me through this. So I couldn’t be more thankful for everything that you guys sent me.
“The journey that I’ve been on has been very, very difficult over the past few months. I was dealing with issues that I know not just girls my age, but of all ages are dealing with. I hope one day to raise awareness of everything so that I can help people in the same way you guys helped me through this rough time.
“I can’t tell you how much light you guys brought into my life at probably the darkest time of my life. Without you guys I wouldn’t be here today.”
Lovato, who stars in the series “Sonny With a Chance”, also said she is ready to return to work after her rehab stint.
The singer adds, “I wanted to let you guys know that I’m excited to get back to work and I can’t wait to tell you what the future holds. I can’t wait to see you guys in person and thank you all individually. I love you all and I couldn’t have done this without you.”
Demi entered rehab in November 2010 following an incident where she allegedly punched her backup dancer Alex Welch.
But the star settled her dispute with Welch by giving her a sum of money in compensation.
