Singer Christina Aguilera is embroiled in a lawsuit over claims that her record label bosses sampled a track for her song “Ain’t No Other Man” without paying the song’s owner.
Christina Aguilera’s hit song “Ain’t No Other Man” reportedly used a beat from Dave Cortez and the Moon People’s song “Hippy Skippy Moon Strut”. And now the song’s owners are suing Aguilera and the bosses at Sony.
In the legal documents, TufAmerica claims they purchased the exclusive rights to the original song in 2004, but Aguilera’s label bosses at Sony made a deal with Codigo Music and the Clyde Otis Music Group to use the song.
TufAmerica is asking the court to declare them the rightful owner of the song and are seeking unspecified damages.
The lawsuit comes on the heels of Christina Aguilera’s arrest for public intoxication.
