Actor Charlie Sheen has filed a $100 million lawsuit against Chuck Lorre and Warner Brothers after he was fired from the sitcom “Two and a Half Men”.
Charlie Sheen filed a lawsuit with the court claiming that Chuck Lorre, the creator and producer of “Two and a Half Men”, and his former employers were in breach of contract.
Sheen tweeted after the lawsuit was filed, writing, “#Fastball; Torpedo away… You corporate Trolls were warned. And now you’ve been served!”
Production for the last eight episodes of the hit show were shut down in February after concerns Sheen wasn’t fit to work.
There were reports that Charlie was partying hard and doing drugs, but he maintains those reports are false.
Charlie Sheen then held numerous interviews where he ranted about Chuck Lorre and the actor was fired on Monday by Warner Brothers.
Charlie’s lawsuit not only demands payment for the eight canceled episodes of the show’, but he is also seeking damages on behalf of the crew of the show that lost wages when the show was shut down.
In the legal document, Charlie’s lawyer, Martin Singer, stated, “Defendant Chuck Lorreí¢ € ¦ believes himself to be so wealthy and powerful that he can unilaterally decide to take money away from the dedicated cast and crew of ‘Two and a Half Men’ in order to serve his own ego and self-interest, and make the star of the Series the scapegoat for Lorre’s own conduct.”
The lawsuit also states that a decision was made to cancel the last episodes before Sheen had made any negative comments about Lorre.
The filing also states that Charlie when fired when he was sick, which is in violation of California State and federal law.
And what does Chuck Lorre think about the lawsuit?
Lorre’s attorney Howard Weitzman issued the following statement:
“The allegations in the complaint against Mr. Lorre are as recklessly false and unwarranted as Mr. Sheen’s rantings in the media The accusations are simply imaginary. This lawsuit is about a fantasy “˜lottery’ pay-day for Charlie Sheen. Chuck Lorre’s concern has been and continues to be about Mr. Sheen’s health.”
