Basketball star Kobe Bryant made history on Saturday when he became the first athlete to be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers star, placed his handprints outside the Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Saturday, with his wife Vanessa and two daughters present for the ceremony.
Bryant said of the honor, “I never in my wildest dreams thought this would be possible.”
“I feel like I’ve grown up in this city, and we’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but there we are — five championships, plenty of more to go, and I just feel extremely honored to be able to do this,” he said at the ceremony.
“I love being in L.A., I love the Lakers, and more championships to come.”
Kobe has had a great weekend after also being named the 2011 NBA All-Star Game MVP.
