Jack Black has been announced as the host of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards this year, which will be held on April 2, 2011.
Funny-man Jack Black, the star of “Gulliver’s Travels”, has been named as the host of the annual Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon!
This makes the third time for Black to host the show.
The award show will feature appearances by actor Will Ferrell and Justin Bieber.
Black, 41, said he is thrilled to be asked to host the show, stating, “Anyone can host something once. But if they ask you back a second time, that means they liked the way you did it. And if you host a third time, that means the first time wasn’t a fluke, and it means you did good two times”.
The head of talent at Nickelodeon, Paula Kaplan, says hosting this awards show isn’t easy. She explains, “It’s not like hosting the Oscars where you’re performing for a bunch of adults who’ll laugh and pretend they like it because that’s the polite thing to do. Kids wear their emotions on their sleeves, and if they don’t like it, they’ll tell you. So some adults are fearful of that honesty. Jack is up for anything.”
Jack is currently filming “The Muppets” movie, which will hit theaters in November.
