Justin Tennison, a star of the reality television fishing program “Deadliest Catch” was found dead in a hotel room in Alaska.
“Deadliest Catch” star Justin Tennison was found dead in a hotel room in Homer, Alaska by cleaning staff. He was 33.
Police did discover alcohol and some marijuana in the room, but are not certain if that played any role in his death.
Deadliest Catch’s Capt. Andy Hillstrand posted on Facebook that “It is with great sadness that the Time Bandit family announces the death of crew member Justin Tennison. Justin died peacefully in his sleep the night of Febuary 21, 2011.”
Hillstrand adds, “Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand. The captains and crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year. We will miss him terribly and wish his family all the best during this most difficult time”.
Tennison is survived by a son and a daughter.
Justin’s death is the second for the Discovery Channel reality show, after fisherman Captain Phil Harris died after suffering a stroke in February 2010.
