Rapper Gucci Mane believes he’s not mentally competent to fight prosecutors’ efforts to revoke his probation and has been committed to a psychiatric hospital at the judge’s orders.
Rapper Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, filed a “Special Plea of Mental Incompetency” in a Georgia courtroom on Monday.
Gucci, 30, claimed he was not able to “intelligently participate in the probation revocation hearing.”
Gucci Mane was ordered into custody and immediately committed into a mental health treatment facility, where he is being evaluated.
In November, the rapper was arrested for resisting arrest during a traffic stop in Atlanta. Officers had to use pepper spray on the him after he assaulted a person during an argument.
In May, Gucci was released from an Atlanta jail after serving six months for violating probation on an assault charge.
