Queen Elizabeth II Becomes Great-Grandmother


Queen Elizabeth II has welcomed her first great-grandchild after Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, and his wife Autumn welcomed a baby girl on Wednesday.

The royal family has something else to celebrate after Queen Elizabeth II has become a great-grandmother.

Peter and Autumn Phillips’ baby girl was born at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, weighing a healthy 8 lbs, 8oz.

“Mr. Peter Phillips was present at the birth,” Queen Elizabeth’s press secretary said in a statement. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Autumn’s family have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

The baby girl is the first child for Autumn and Peter, as well as being the first grandchild for Princess Anne and the first great-grandchild for the The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The baby girl will be twelfth in line to the Throne.
