Actress Hayden Panettiere’s father, Alan Panettiere, was arrested Monday morning at the family’s home in Hollywood for felony domestic violence.
Update: Alan Panettiere has been released after being held for around 10 hours. He posted bail to the tune of $50,000. Ouch! And sources are stating there was lots of drinking involved, both with Alan Panettiere and wife, Lesley.
Hayden Panettiere’s family had an exciting morning, but not in a good way! Hayden Panettiere’s father, Alan, was arrested for domestic abuse, sheriffs confirm.
“There was a domestic argument between the mother and father,” Sgt. Scott Wolf of the West Hollywood sheriffs said. “He got upset and struck the mother in the face one or two times on the left cheek which caused some bruising. From what I’m told, he hit her with a closed fist.”
“The mother called police shortly before 3 a.m., and Mr. Panettiere was taken into custody,” Sgt. Wolf added. “He’s been cooperative. Earlier, they were at a party and the husband apparently felt disrespected by his wife.”
Hayden Panettiere hosted a benefit on Sunday for the Whaleman Foundation at actress, Eva Longoria’s, Beso restaurant in Hollywood. Hayden Panettiere’s parents were also in attendance at the event.
Alan Panettiere, 49, has not yet given his version of the story, was arrested on the felony charge because “there were visible signs of injury” on 52-year-old Lesley Vogel’s face.
Thus far, no information as to whether drinking was involved in the incident. Alan Panettiere is being held in jail with a $50,000 bond.
