Joe Barron, one of the 40 ministers from Prestonwood Baptist Church, was arrested on the charge of online solicitation of a minor.
Joe drove to Bryan, Texas, to meet a juvenile after chatting with her for about a fortnight. She was a fake identity set up in a sting operation. Bryan police said that the chats were sexually explicit in nature.
This week, Joe made the 3 hour drive from Prestonwood to Bryan. The undercover officers arrested him. They found a webcam and condoms in his car.
Bryan police searched Joe’s home in Plano. They removed a desktop, 2 laptops, computer disks and memory cards. Prestonwood church officials have given police access to check Joe’s computer at the church.
Mike Buster, Prestonwood’s executive pastor, released a statement to express their sadness. They were praying for the Barron family and cooperating with police.
