Indianapolis has hosted its 92nd Indianapolis 500 motor car race this Memorial Day weekend. The newcomers had a hard time.

Alex Lloyd, from England, hit the wall and lost control as his car went into the pit lane backwards. IndyCar Series pit lane staff had to run for their lives. Mario Moraes’ pit crew were in the lane and narrowly missed getting hit.

Dan Wheldon had engine trouble. He had to re-join the race in the 19th place. Tom Scheckter suffered a broken gear shaft.

After 400 miles, the line up was Vitor Meira in the lead, followed by Scott Dixon, Helio Castroneves, Marco Andretti, Ed Carpenter, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Danica Patrick.

Scott Dixon eventually won the 92nd Indy 500. The top 4 winners were Scott Dixon, Vitor Meira, Marco Andretti and Helio Castroneves.

XM Satellite Radio is providing the first satellite radio broadcast of the Indianapolis 500 live. Details are yet to be confirmed.
