Where do I begin with this film? Right, utter confusion. This movie left me scratching my head. It made me question my intelligence. ‘Cloud Atlas’ was difficult to understand. Maybe an atlas would’ve helped. Be prepared to use a significant amount of brain power. And maybe even hire a translator to sit next to you. The film consists of many storylines but somehow all connected through ‘Cloud Atlas’ and a mysterious birthmark.
The stories are all told in a different era. From 1849 to 2144. Present, Past and Future. Some characters seemed like they were speaking a foreign language. At first, I thought I had a hearing problem. But then realized that the characters were mumbling a fake language. It got annoying after a while. And some of the stories, I just didn’t get. Perhaps I left my thinking cap at home. Or I should just try reading the book first.read more
