British singer Robbie Williams is celebrating after becoming a first-time father.
The former “Take That” star’s wife Ayda Field gave birth to a baby girl, Theodora Rose, on Tuesday.
The proud father took to his official blog to announce his happy news, writing, “Praise be, it’s Theodora Rose Williams, affectionately known as Teddy… Born 3.33pm on 18.9.12, 7lbs 4oz… Baby, mummy and daddy are all rockin… Thank you for your best wishes.”
Teddy is the first child for Robbie Williams and actress Field, who tied the knot in 2010.
Williams was worried he might miss his baby’s birth due to his concert schedule.
The Take That star writes, “Hey friendlies, I’ve been keeping a secret from you all. Me and Ayda are going to be a Mummy and Daddy this year!!!!!!!! We had sex! It works!
“We’ve seen scans and cried… looked at babies in commercials and teared up… the nursery is already planned. Basically I’m in love with a little person growing in mummy’s belly… and can’t wait to be a daddy. Crying now.
“Much love, much joy. Roberto, Mum and Little Bump. xxx (sic)”
Robbie, 38, and Ayda, 32, married in 2010 and have always spoken of their desire to have a family.
Williams previously stated, “She wants a football team. I want two. A boy and a girl.
“[We're going to call them] Woody and Sonny! Cool, eh? She wants to get on it now, but, I just got back off tour. There’s a stretch from now until Christmas and then, we’ll do some practicing.”
