Jennifer Love Hewitt is mourning the loss of her mother, Patricia “Pat” Hewitt, who died of cancer at age 67 on Tuesday.

Hewitt’s rep issued a statement saying, “Her family mourns her loss. She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place. They ask for privacy at this difficult time. No further details are being provided.”

Hewitt, 33, who kept her mom’s illness private, always appreciated her mother’s support in her career.

The actress previously revealed her mother found her role as a prostitute on “The Client List” amusing.
